Hair Transplant Types: DHI, FUE, and FUT

There are three main hair transplantation types called DHI, FUE, and FUT.

They all imply different techniques and structures. The methods are done by well-educated medical teams and physicians. You can read further to get more information about each one of them below.

DHI HAIR TRANSPLANT

DHI is an advanced non-invasive hair transplant type. This technique is done by extracting follicles one by one and implanting them directly using a specific tool called a choi pen. The use of the Choi pen makes the procedure shorter, but slightly more expensive.

DHI offers natural-looking results with high success rates of more than %95. The recovery period is shorter compared to other techniques with no pain or complications.

FUE HAIR TRANSPLANT

FUE is a minimally invasive technique for hair restoration. In this hair transplant type, the follicles are extracted from the donor area. After the recipient area is prepared and the follicles are processed, they are implanted. The surgery duration is shorter compared to FUT, with less pain, no big scars, and a fast recovery time.

There are four subtypes of FUE: Micro FUE, Sapphire FUE, Soft FUE, and Robotic FUE. Regardless of the subtype, the success rate for this method is %95.

FUT HAIR TRANSPLANT

FUT is a hair transplantation type for hair loss. In this technique, a strip of skin is removed from the donor area at the back of the head. Hair follicles are harvested from this strip and put in a special solution for preparation. Then the surgeon makes small incisions on the recipient site for graft implantation.

Compared to other alternatives, FUT takes longer to perform and to recover from. One major disadvantage of this technique is that it leaves a big linear scar at the donor site.
