DHI is the newest method in hair transplant procedures. The unique feature about DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) implantation method is that during operation recipient site creation and graft implantation are performed simultaneously and implantation are combined as part of a one or two step process, embedding the extracted hair follicles directly into the recipient areas without the need of creating channel incisions via utilizing an implanter (Choi) pen. The implanter/Choi Pen features a very thin and sharp fine tip. This fine tipped Choi needle is shaped like a hollow needle and allows the grafts to be inserted within the needle.

Other unique features can be listed as follows:

  • The DHI method requires more skill and experience than other hair transplant methods. This in turn, requires the physicians and medical teams to be exposed to a long-term training period so as to specialize in utilizing this technique.

  • The DHI method has a faster recovery period and can be performed with less bleeding compared to the FUE method.

  • Thanks to it’s method using an Choi implanter pen in the existing hair, doctors have more control over the angle, direction and depth of the hair transplantation and hence results in a more natural look.

  •  DHI hair transplantation does not involve an incision. Therefore, there is a low chance of infection and the operation is less painful. Even though hair transplants are generally considered as painless procedures, this new method will help our patients who suffer from needle phobia, to feel at ease, allowing them to relax during the procedure.

  • Another distinctive feature about this technique is that  the level of pain that was currently at minimum is now completely eliminated. Also, thanks to fast recovery during the postoperative phase, the patient can return back to his/her normal routine quicker.
