Turkey is known as a country that has always been successful in the field of medicine. The latest ring added to the chain of Turkey’s successes in the field of medicine was Dr. Serkan Aygın receiving the Europe’s most successful hair transplant doctor award in December of 2019. Turkey’s success in the field of hair transplantation is actually known by many.
Dr. Serkan Aygın was nominated for the award from Turkey, a country the world recognizes in this field. After consideration he received the award at the ceremony organized in Paris on December 4 2019. Dr. Serkan Aygın, who previously received various awards in Turkey, had last received the best health tourism providing clinic award in Spain at the 8th Health Tourism awards organised by La Razon.
Dr Serkan Aygın is a doctor who has been working on the fields of hair transplants and hair treatments, of which he is a specialist in both, for the past 23 years. After completing his bachelors at İstanbul University Çapa Faculty of Medicine, he completed his specialist training in the fields of dermatology and pharmacology. Afterwards he worked as a practitioner focusing on hair development and hair transplant procedures. He has been performing operations at his self named clinic since 2013.
23 Years of Experience
For over 20 years, during hair transplant procedures he applied the FUT technique, after 2005-2006 however he began implementing the FUE technique. As of 2016 he has also been using the DHI technique, a variety of the FUE technique. Dr. Serkan Aygın, who added various practical applications in line with his researches and experiences on these basic techniques, was awarded the European Awards of Medicine for his contributions.
Innovations Dr. Aygın added to the Field of Hair Transplantation
Nowadays said in conjunction with FUE, he presented Sapphire FUE and began practicing it in 2016. Technically, it is a much more efficient method in comparison to FUE done with steel slits. By opening canals with blades made out of the sharper and smoother sapphire element, the success rate of hair transplants has increased. Especially with the survival rate of post transplant hair follicles rising from 90-95% to 98%, we can see this technique has ensured an important success. Aimed at bringing comfort during a hair transplant procedure to the highest level by using sedation, Dr. Serkan Aygın’s hair transplant technique is called Soft FUE. The sedation used here is executed under supervision by a doctor based on the patients physical condition. With this very safe procedure the patient is fully conscious. The patients pain tolerance is kept under observation throughout the whole procedure. It is ensured that the patient doesn’t feel any pain during the procedure. In the light of all these innovations, and his contributions to the comfort and success of hair transplants today, Dr. Serkan Aygın proudly accepted this award on behalf of Turkey.
